Yes they did, absolutely! Just like us they sometimes just got the signs confused, other times times couldn’t remember how to spell a word and had to guess based on the sound. Obviously *literal* typos, where a sign is replaced by one next to it on the keyboard, were not an issue 😉
The one about medicine is pretty hilarious if you study Hellenistic Egypt.
